The rumors and speculation are officially over with the Phillies and Cole Hamels agreeing to a new deal. The deal is for six years and $144 Million, has an option for a seventh, gives Hamels a limited no trade clause, and is the second highest contract for a pitcher in baseball history, right behind the seven year $161 Million the Yankees gave C.C Sabathia. The deal is also a break from the Phillies philosophy of not signing pitchers to long term deals.
