The Phillies went down to Atlanta to take on the Braves riding a four game winning streak, and looking to sweep the Braves and get back into the Wild Card race. Instead the Phillies lost to the Braves 6-2 and can’t avoid being swept by the Braves. The loss drops the Phillies to 45-57, 12 1/2 games behind the Braves and effectively puting and end to any hopes of the post season for the Phillies. The Braves hit Roy Halladay up for three runs in the first three innings, the Phillies fought back to cut it to 3-2, but the bullpen gave up three runs in the seventh to put an end to the scoring. The only thing left for the Phillies is to see if they can avoid losing 100 games, and avoid finishing in last place in the NL East.
