The Phillies put Carlos Ruiz on the 15 day DL on Saturday. Ruiz who has been playing with plantar faciitis, had an MRI done that revealed a partial tear that will keep him out of the line up 4-6 weeks. Ruiz was having a career year, making the All Star team for the frist time. hitting .335 with 14 homers, and 85 RBI’s. this can be considered par for the course considering the way this season has gone with injuries. Maybe Ruiz should just shut it down and come back in the spring completely healthy.
