The Phillies four game winning streak came to an end with a 9-5 loss to the New York Mets on Tuesday night. After Ryan Howard gave the Phillies a 4-1 lead with a grand slam in the bottom of the first, Vance Worely gave the lead back before being pulled in the top of the 5th. Maybe now the Phillies will shut him down and get his elbow cleaned out, and come back in the spring healthy. After Chase Utley gave the Phillies a 5-4 lead, Charlie Manuel decided to use Antonio Bastardo again in the eighth inning, and again Bastardo proved he shouldn’t be the eighth inning pitcher allowing the Mets to tie it at 5-5. B.J Rosenberg came in to pitch the 10th and unofficially ended the game by giving up 4 runs.
Star of the Game:
