The Phillies beat the Cincinnati Reds 4-2 in a rainy Labor Day matinee. Tyler Cloyd went 7 innings, giving up just 1 run on 4 hits and striking out 9 to pick up his first major league win. Phillipe Aumont gave up a run on two hits in the ninth, but picked up his first major league save. Jimmy Rollins’ 1, 999th hit was a homer in the top of the fifth to put the Phillies on top 3-1. John Mayberry Jr. added a solo shot in the sixth for insurance. The Phillies improve to 65-70, while the Reds drop to 82-54.
