It’s time for The Sports Den to take a look at the NFC West. This is the weakest division in the NFL. The 49ers ran away with it in 2011 and should do so again in 2012. With that said here is how The Sports Den see the NFC West ending up.
NFC West – Final Standings 2012
1. San Francisco 49ers – Best in the West. Won this division by five games, and should do that again this season. One of the teams picked to come out of the NFC to go to the Super Bowl.
Prediction: 11-5
2. Arizona Cardinals – The Cardinals have issues at QB. John Skelton has been named the starter, but how long will it last before Kevin Kolb takes his place? Lost OT Levi Brown for the season, that will hurt both the running, and passing games.
Prediction: 8-8
3. Seattle Seahawks – The Seahawks won this division with a 7-9 record in 2010, and finished third in 2011 with a 7-9 record. Since rookie QB Russell Wilson was named starter, The Sports Den is picking them to finish 2012 with a 7-9 record.
4. St. Louis Rams – The Rams finished last in 2011 with a 2-14 record. Jeff Fisher takes over as head coach in 2012, but really doesn’t have anything to work with outside of Sam Bradford and Steven Jackson when he is healthy. Might be able to steal a game or two.
Prediction: 4-12
Next: AFC East
