It was ugly. Roy Halladay gets roughed up, then knocked out of the game in the second inning of his second shortest outing in his career, the shortest was caused by line drive to the elbow back in 2006, left the game in the first inning. The Braves scored 7 runs off Halladay in the first two innings effectively taking the Phillies out of the game, on route to an 8-2 win over the Phillies. The Phillies playoff chances took another blow with the Cardinals coming back to beat the Cubs putting the Phillies 4 back of the wild card, with 10 games left, not looking good. Congratulations to Ryan Howard for hitting his 300th career home run. The Phillies fall to 77-75 with the loss. Cliff Lee will try to keep the playoff hopes alive on Sunday.
Star of the Game:
Jayson Heyward, Braves – 2/4, HR, 4 RBI’s
