Phillies 6 – Nationals 3

The Phillies are playing their final three home games of the 2012 season against the Washington Nationals, and it got off to a good start with a 6-3 win. The win guarantees the Nationals won’t be able to clinch the division in Philly, take the next two and make them sweat it out. Cole Hamels picked up his career high 16th win, while Darin Ruf picked up his first hit in the majors, which happened to be a home run. Jonathan Papelbon picked up his 37th save of the season. The win puts the Phillies a little closer to guaranteeing a.500 or better record for the season at 78-76.

Star of the Game:

Carlos Ruiz, Phillies – 1/4, HR, 3 RBI’s
