It’s the same broken record again, another Phillies starter pitches well enough to win but doesn’t get run support. Tyler Cloyd taking Roy Halladay’s spot in the rotation for now, did well but walked away with a no decision when the bullpen couldn’t hold the lead 2-1 lead he gave them that wound up in a 3-2 loss to the Diamondbacks. The Phillies pick up their third straight loss while the D’backs pick up their fifth straight win. The Phillies offense made a brief appearance in the first inning scoring two runs, but then took the rest of the night off, apparently the Phillies hitters left their good bats in San Francisco. Cliff Lee will be looking to snap another losing streak when he takes the mound on Saturday night.
Player of the Game:
Miguel Montero, D’backs – 1/3, 1 R, 1 HR, 1 RBI (GW)
