Phillies – Nationals Recap Quickie – Game 1

The Phillies dropped the first game of their weekend battle with the Nationals 5-2. The Phillies lost this game in the fifth inning. In the top half they had a chance to put the game away with the bases loaded and one out, but Ben Revere hit into double play that killed the rally, and  the Phillies offense fell asleep for the rest of the game.  In the bottom half of the inning misplays by Ben Revere and Michael Young  allowed the Nationals to score four runs, and escape with the win. The Phillies need to win the next two games to finally reach .500, and to tie the Nationals for second in the NL East. Keep the fingers crossed.

Player of the Game:

Steve Lambardozzi, Nationals – 3/4, 1 2B, 2 RBI’s
