The Phillies took game two from the Nationals by the score of 5-3. It was a back and forth game with the Phillies taking their first lead 2-0 lead on back to back homers by Domonic Brown and Erik Kratz in the second inning. After the Nationals tie it at 2-2, the Phillies would take the lead again in the top of the fifth 3-2, only to have the Nationals tie it again in the bottom half of the inning. The Phillies scored two runs in the top of the eighth to take the lead for good. The win puts the Phillies one game below .500 again at 24-25, and one game behind the Nationals for second place in the NL East. The Phillies look to reach .500, and tie the Nationals on Sunday afternoon when Cole Hamels goes up against Stephen Strasburg in the series finale.
