The story of this game was Cliff Lee, and Jonathan Papelbon. Lee went eight innings, giving up just one run on four hits, and striking out eight to give the Phillies a 3-1 win over the Red Sox. Jonathan Papelbon made his first appearance at Fenway since signing with the Phillies and picked up his tenth save of the season. The win gives the Phillies a split with the Red Sox in Fenway, and moves them to 25-27, while the Red Sox drop to32-21. The Red Sox now come to Philly to play two at Citizen’s Bank Park.
