It’s about time. After what seems like an eternity the Phillies hit the .500 mark, 30-30, beating the Marlins 6-1 on Wednesday afternoon to complete the sweep and extend their winning streak to four games, longest of the season. Cole Hamels looked like he was going to get a no decision when he was lifted for a pinch hitter in the bottom of the seventh with the score tied at 1-1. After a delay while home plate umpire John Hirschbeck was replaced, ball hit his hand, the Phillies offense woke up. Jimmy Rollins gave the Phillies a 2-1 lead with a two out RBI single. Ryan Howard followed with a two run triple, and Domonic Brown ended the scoring with a two run homer, and Cole Hamels had his second win of the season.
