The Phillies kicked off their ten game road trip up in Milwaukee where they are taking on the Brewers in a four game weekend series. The Phillies jumped out early and cruised to a 5-1 win behind Tyler Cloyd. Cloyd held the Brewers scoreless in 6 2/3 innings, giving up just four hits. Delmon Young hit his sixth homer, and Ryan Howard, Erik Kratz, and John Mayberry Jr. each had an RBI. The win moves the Phillies to above .500 for the first time, hopefully not the last, this seaon at 31-30. They are also sitting in second in the NL East by themselves. one game ahead of the Nationals, and one game closer to the Braves. Now for something completely different, Cliff Lee will take the mound on Friday night looking to extend the Phillies winning streak instead of ending a losing streak
Player of the Game:
Delmon Young, Phillies – 1/3, 1 R, 1 HR, 1 RBI.
