The Phillies opened a weekend series with the Mets on Friday night. Phillies fans should be used to this by now, Cole Hamels starts, Phillies lose. That was the case again with the Phillies losing 4-3 to the Mets. The Phillies offense gave Hamels an early 3-0 lead in the second inning, then took the rest of the night off, while Hamels surrendered the lead to the Mets. The loss drops the Phillies back to four games below .500 at 35-39, while the Mets pull to within four games of the Phillies at 29-41. Jonathan Pettibone will try and end the Phillies two game losing streak on Saturday.
