The Phillies finished up their series with the Padres with a 13 inning 7-5 win to take two out of three from the Padres. The Phillies gave Cole Hamels an early 2-0 lead, Hamels went 6 innings giving up 5 runs, 4 earned runs, 7 hits. The Phillies bullpen would hold the Padres scoreless over seven innings The Padres held a 5-3 lead in the heading into the top of the eighth when Delmon Young would hit a two run homer with two outs to tie the game at 5-5, and that score would stand until the top of the 13th. The Phillies had first and second and two outs when Ben Revere hit a routine grounder that turned into an error that allowed both Chase Utley and Domonic Brown to score giving the Phillies the lead. Jonathan Papelbon picked up his 15th save pitching a scoreless bottom of the 13th. The Phillies take their two game winning streak into L.A. for a four game weekend series.
