The Eagles kicked off their preseason schedule against Patriots at the Linc on Friday night. The Sports Den has a few thoughts about the game. The QB competition between Mike Vick and Nick Foles was about even with both QB’s leading the offense on scoring drives, Foles did turn the ball over once. Matt Barkley also got into the act leading the Eagles on a scoring drive. The obvious problem again is the defense and their inability at times to tackle anybody, the Patriots ran for 248 yards, half of that total came on two carries, one for 51, and the other for 62 on the first play of the game. It’s just one preseason game, but take away those two plays and the stats are about even. Since it is the first preseason game we’ll let the clock management and bad play call at the end of the game slide. Tim Tebow should really consider giving up trying to be an NFL QB, and try FB or TE.
