The Flyers were in Edmonton to face former goalie Ilya Bryzgalov, and the Oilers. The Flyers got off to a slow start and fell behind the Oilers 2-0 after one period. The Flyers dominated the second period, and thanks to Wayne Simmonds’ third straight two goal game tied it at 2-2 heading into the third period. The Oilers would take a 3-2 lead in the third on a PP goal by David Perron. Scott Hartnell would score a PP goal a couple of minutes later to tie it 3-3, and send it to OT. the game went to the shootout where Flyers’ rookie Michael Raffl would beat Bryzgalov to win the shootout and the game.
