The Phillies came from behind to beat the Mariners 4-3 in a Wednesday matinee and take the series 2-1. Cole Hamels only lasted five innings but was able come away with his seventh win of the season. Both teams combined to score seven runs over three innings, the Mariners taking a 1-0 lead in the second, the Phillies tying it with a run in the third. The Mariners took a 3-1 lead in the top of the fourth, and the Phillies ended the scoring with three sun in the bottom half to go up 4-3. Both bullpens did their jobs keeping the other team scoreless with the Phillies’ Jonathan Papelbon picking up his 30th save. The Phillies improve to 56-71, and the Mariners drop to 68-58.
