Here is how The Sports Den thinks the final standings in the NFC North will look like at the end of the 2014 season. The predictions also depends on how healthy each team can stay.
NFC North
1. Green Bay Packers *- Won the division last year with an 8-7-1 thanks to a tie with the Vikings and Aaron Rodgers missing seven games with an injury. This should be a two team race again this season between the Packers and Bears. Even the the Packers lost B.J. Raji to a torn biceps which is going to hurt the defense a little, good thing they signed Julius Peppers, you still have to give the edge to the Packers over the Bears because Rodgers is better than Cutler. Prediction: 10-6
2. Chicago Bears – Finished second in the division last year with an 8-8 record. Should give the Packers a run for the division crown. The defense isn’t the old Bears defense so they will rely on their offense. They recently added Santonio Holmes to an already formidable set of wide receivers. They also have one of the better running backs in the league in Matt Forte when healthy. The Bears will only go as far as Jay Cutler can take them, and so far he hasn’t really proven he will be able to take them anywhere. Prediction: 9-7
3. Detroit Lions – After four straight losses at the end of the season, and finishing third in the division with a 7-9 record Jim Schwartz is out and Jim Caldwell is in. Big things were expected in Detroit after drafting Mathew Stafford, and Calvin Johnson but things haven’t turned out the way they were expecting. Detroit fans shouldn’t expect big things this season either. Prediction: 7-9
4. Minnesota Vikings – Finished last in the division in 2013 with a 5-10-1 , and Mike Zimmer replaced Leslie Frazier. The Vikings had one of the worse defenses in the league last season, and it very well could be one of the worse again this season. The offense is all about Adrian Peterson, and he can’t do everything himself. The only things Vikings fans should be worried about is when will they switch from Matt Cassell to Teddy Bridgewater, if he doesn’t win the starting job during the preseason. Prediction: 6-10
