The NFC West is considered by many to be the toughest division in the NFL right now. It looked like it might have been a four team race for the division, but Sam Bradford’s injury threw a monkey wrench into that idea. The is how The Sports Den sees the division ending up at the end of the 2014 season unless injuries change everything.
NFC West:
1. Seattle Seahawks *- Finished up the 2013 season winning the division with a 13-3 record, and then went on to win their first Super Bowl by trouncing the Broncos. The only things that could keep the Seahawks from at least repeating as division champs are injuries, and the dreaded Super Bowl letdown. Prediction: 12-4
2. Arizona Cardinals -* Finished third in the division last season with a 10-6 record after finishing with a 5-11 record in 2012. Were the only team to beat the Seahawks in Seattle last season. Could steal another game or two. Prediction: 11-5
3. San Francisco 49ers – Finished second in the division last season with a 12-4 record after winning the division in 2012. LB Aldon Smith has been suspended for nine game, have to wait and see if that has any effect on the defense. Have to pick someone to finish third. Prediction: 10-6
4. St. Louis Rams – Finished last in the division in 2013 with a 7-9 record. Unfortunately Sam Bradford tore his ACL again and will miss the season. Shaun Hill will be the QB, but this won’t be turning into the greatest show on turf part II. Prediction: 7-9
* Make Playoffs
