Here is how The Sports Den sees the AFC West finishing up at the end of the 2014 season.

AFC West Standings

1. Denver Broncos *- Finished first in the division with a 13-3 record in 2013. Made it to the Super Bowl and we all know what happened there. Peyton Manning and the offense should be able to survive the first four games without Wes Welker. Shouldn’t have too much of a problem repeating as division champs, getting back tot he Super bowl to get that taste out of their mouths is a completely different story. Prediction: 12-4

2. San Diego Chargers *- Finished third in the division with a 9-7 record. Ended the season winning four straight, and four of the last five to make the playoffs.Won’t catch the Broncos for the division title, but finishing second and an appearance in the playoffs should do just fine.
Prediction: 10-6

3. Kansas City Chiefs – Finished second in the division behind the Broncos with an 11-5 record. Andy Reid did a great job turning this team around from a 4-12 team. Started the season 9-0, and finished it 2-5, the playoff loss to the Colts after building a huge lead, and Alex Smith’s new contract add up to a disappointing season. Prediction: 8-8

4. Oakland Raiders – Finished last in the division in 2013 with a 4-12 record. Ended the season with a six game losing streak. The Raiders will be starting a rookie QB in Derek Carr, will he survive the season? Will Darren McFadden stay healthy?  One of these season the Raiders will turn it around, but it won’t be this season. Prediction: 4-12
