The Pittsburgh Pirates are in town to take on the Phillies in four game series in part two of MLB’s version of the “Battle of Pa”. The Pirates (74-68) come into this series riding a three game winning streak, while the Phillies are coming off a 3-2 loss to the Nationals. The Pirates lead the season series 3-0 after sweeping the Phillies in part 1 in Pittsburgh over the 4th of July weekend. The Pirates are currently holding the second wild card, and trailing the Cardinals by 4.5 games for the division lead in the NL Central. The Phillies will be playing the roll of spoiler and looking for a little pay back against their cross state rivals. The series will also feature two of the three players, Ben Revere .315, Josh Harrison 315, tied for second, battling it out for the NL batting title. The Pirates are 30-40 on the road, while the Phillies are 33-38 at home. With a little luck maybe the Phillies can pick up their 70th win and pull within six games of .500 at the end of this series. Keep the fingers crossed Phillies fans.
