The Phillies had to settle for a split in their four game series with the Rockies after a 7-3 loss on Thursday afternoon. The Phillies jumped out to a 1-0- lead on a RBI single by Darin Ruf in the top of the third, but the lead didn’t last long. The Rockies roughed up Jerome Williams for three runs in the bottom of the inning. Darin Ruf drove in his second run of the game with a sacrifice fly that scored Chase Utley who had tripled, and Ryan Howard (5) followed with a solo home run that tied the game 3-3, but the tie didn’t last long. Jerome Williams surrendered two runs to the Rockies in the bottom of the fifth on a home run by Michael McKenry that put the Rockies up 5-3. The Rockies added a couple of more runs in the bottom of the seventh that put the game out of reach. The Phillies drop to 18-25, and the Rockies climb to 15-23.
