The Phillies returned from their ten game road trip to open a nine game home stand starting off with a weekend series against the Rockies. The Rockies jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Cole Hamels and the Phillies thanks to a pair of Troy Tulowitzki home runs. Chad Betties pitched a gem for the Rockies holding the Phillies hit less until a Cody Asche single in the bottom of the eighth. After Hamels was taken out Luis Garcia surrendered a pair of runs in the top of the ninth on a Ben Paulson two run homer. Thanks to a wild pitch and an error the Phillies scored a run in the bottom of the ninth to avoid the shutout. The Phillies lose their fifth straight, drop to 19-31, and find themselves back in the basement of the NL East. The Rockies win their second straight and climb to 20-26.
