The Pirates completed the weekend sweep of the Phillies with a 1-0 win on Sunday afternoon. It was the second time in three days the Pirates defeated the Phillies 1-0 in extra innings, Sunday’s game going 11 innings.For the first seven innings it was a classic pitching duel between former teammates A.J. Burnett and Cole Hamels. Hamels was lifted after seven shutout innings and 103 pitches, while Burnett pitched nine scoreless innings throwing 102 pitches. Burnett was never in any real trouble while Hamels pitched out of a bases loaded jam in the fourth. Josh Harrison ended the game in the bottom of the 11th with a single that scored Neil Walker. The Phillies lose their sixth in a row, tenth straight on the road, fall to 7-26 on thje road and fall to twenty games below .500 at 22-42, while the Pirates win their fourth in a row, and improve to 35-27.
