The Phillies dropped their second in a row to the Cardinals with another lopsided final, this time 10-1. Cody Asche gave the Phillies the early 1-0 lead in the second with a solo home run, unfortunately that would be it for the Phillies. The Cardinals tied it with a run in the fourth, and then would take a 4-1 lead on Randal Grichuk first home run of the game, a three run shot in the sixth. The Cardinals would then add six more runs over the next three innings with Grichuk ending the scoring with his second home run of the game in the ninth. Phillies starter Aaron Harang loses his sixth straight start and falls to 4-9, while the Phillies drop to 22-47. The Cardinals improve MLB’s best record to 45-23, and improve to 5-1 against the Phillies this season.
