The saying goes when you least expect it, expect it. That’s sort of what happened with the Phillies on Monday night. Not to many people were expecting the Phillies to snap their twelve game road losing streak against the Yankees in the Bronx, but that is what happened. It started out with the Phillies scoring a run in the first, and the Yankees responding with two in the bottom half to take a 2-1 lead. Instead of folding up their tents the Phillies offense scored the next seven runs to take a surprising 8-2 lead. No the yankees didn’t go quietly in the night, they fought back, but he Philles were able to hold on for an 11-8 win. The star of this game was Maikel Franco who was a Bronx bomber in a Phillies uniform at least for one night. Franco went 4/5, with 2 HR’s and 5 RBI, makes you wonder if the Yankees will make a phone cal to the Phillies. The Phillies have won two in a row and are now 25-47, while the Yankees drop to 38-32.
