The Yankees got themselves a little payback on Wednesday afternoon by beating the Phillies 10-2. Yankees starter Ivan Nova, making his first start after Tommy John surgery, held the Phillies offense in check for 6 2/3 innings giving up just 3 hits. It was a short afternoon for Phillies starter Cole Hamels who gave up 5 runs, 8 hits, 3 walks, and a hit batter in five innings. The Phillies managed to avoid the shutout by scoring their two runs in the ninth. The Yankees improve to 39-33, and the Phillies drop to 26-48.
