The Phillies held a press conference on Monday afternoon to announce that at the end of this season Andy MacPhail will take over the reigns as Phillies President from Pat Gillick. For the time being MacPhail will be a special assistant to Gillick, and will be observing the day to day operations of the team.The only way this isn’t a good move is if MacPhail keeps Amaro Jr. as GM.
