The Phillies started off their final six games of the season with a three game series with the New York Mets. This series means something to both teams with the Mets looking for home field advantage in the NLDS, and the Phillies looking to avoid their first 100 loss season since 1961. Darin Ruf gave the Phillies a 3-0 lead with a three run homer off Bartolo Colon in the first inning. Lucas Duda, the Phillies should take the off season to consider intentionally walking Duda next season, cut it to 3-1 with his first home run of the game in the fourth. Aaron Altherr made it 4-1 Phillies with a RBI single in the seventh that scored Freddy Galvis. Lucas Duda’s second home run of the game, a two run homer in the ninth odd Ken Giles made it a 4-3 final in favor of the Phillies. The Phillies win their second in a row are now 60-97, while the Mets fall to 89-68.
