Thanks to the forecasted nasty weather MLB decided to move the series finale between the Mets and Phillies from a night game to a mid day matinee. The Phillies were able to complete their first sweep of the Mets at home since 2009 with a 3-0 win. Jerad Eickhoff’s final start of the season was a strong one. Eickhoff went seven innings giving up four hits, walking one, and striking out ten. The Phillies offense came from a Darin Ruf (12) two run home run in the foruth inning, and a Andres Blanco solo home run in the eighth. Luis Garcia picked up his second save with a scoreless ninth. The Phillies win their fourths straight, and are now 62-97, and need just one win in their last three games to avoid a 100 loss season. The Mets lose their third straight and drop to 89-70.
