After taking game 2 of the series from the A’s by the score of 5-3 the Phillies dropped the series finale to the A’s on Sunday afternoon by the score of 6-3. A fielding error by the A’s Matt Chapman and a RBI single by Maikel Franco gave the Phillies a 2-0 lead after one inning. The A’s tied it 2-2 in the fourth on solo home runs by Chad Pindor, and Matt Olson. Maikel Franco gave the Phillies a 3-2 lead with another RBI single in the fifth. Joey Wendle, who grew up in Delaware, and attended West Chester University, would give the A’s the eventual 6-3 win by hitting a grand slam in the sixth inning. The Phillies drop to 58-91, and the A’s improve to 66- 83.
