The Flyers opened up their season in San Jose on Wednesday night and survived the Shark attack to come away with a 5-3 win. Hats off to Wayne Simmons who picked up his second career hat trick. After Claude Giroux, and Jordan Weal gave the Flyers a 2-0 lead the Sharks‘ Kevin Labanc tied it up with a pair of goals. Wayne Simmons first goal gave the Flyers a 3-2 lead. Logan Couture would tie it back up 3-3. Simmons would then give the Flyers a 4-3 with his second goal. His third goal would ice it for the 5-3 final.
