Nothing like making your major league debut in front of mom on Mother’s Day. That’s what Cole Irvin did on Sunday afternoon against the Royals. Irvin made it even better by picking up the win, going 7 innings giving up just 1 run, 5 hits, 1 walk, and striking out 5 in the Phillies 6-1 win over the Royals. The Phillies scored their runs in a six run fifth inning. Jean Segura had a RBI single, Rhys Hoskins drew a bases loaded walk, J.T. Realmuto had a two run double, and Odubel Herrera had a two run single. The Phillies finished up their six game road trip at 4-2, and improve to 23-16
