Aaron Nola deserved better. Nola have up just one run, and four hits in six and a third innings. The Phillies offense on the other hand was basically a no show until it was too little too late.The game was tied 1-1 heading into the eighth inning when Mike Marin, and Jarrod Hughes combined to give up five runs the pit the Phillies in a 6-1 hole. It didn’t get any better in the ninth. Edgar Garcia came into the game and have up five more runs that included Todd Fraser’s second three run homer, the first came in the eighth inning, the Phillies now found themselves down 11-1. The Phillies offense managed to score four runs in the bottom of the ninth, but like we said earlier in this post, too little too late. The Mets ended their Sox game losing streak with an 11-5 win.
