The Phillies came up short in their attempt to sweep the Braves on Thursday losing 5-4 in the series finale. Ronald Acuna (40) gave the Braves a 2-0 lead with a two run homer in the third. The Phillies tied it in the fourth on a Adam Haseley RBI double, and a Cesar Hernandez ground out. Freddie Freeman’s two run single in the fifth put the Braves up 4-2. Jean Segura’s RBI single in the sixth cut the Braves lead to 4-3. Austin Riley (18) homered in the bottom of the sixth to make it 5-3 Braves. Scott Kingery’s sacrifice fly in the eighth made it 5-4. The Phillies have now lost the last six games Aaron No la has started. Maybe pitching No la every fifth day wasn’t such a good idea after all.
