And now for something completely different, the Flyers won a shootout. The Flyers snapped their two game losing streak with a 4-3 shootout win over the Devils. If you know the Flyers you know they don’t have a great track record in shootouts. Wayne Simmonds (1) put the Devils up 1-0 with his first goal of the season against his former team. Oskar Lindblom (7) tied it up at 1-1. Sean Couturier (3) out the Flyers up 2-1. The Devils would take a 3-2 lead on goals by Sami Vatanen (4), and Taylor Hall (2). Joel Farabee’s (1) first career goal tied it up 3-3. Sean Couturier would score the only goal of the shootout to give the Flyers the win.
