So MLB is thinking about changing it’s playoff format. Not sure what they were thinking when they came up with this but it doesn’t sound like a good idea. The only thing The Small Sports Blog likes about is the teams choosing their opponents. It would be great to see the top teams pick their opponent then lose to that opponent. How would they schedule the playoffs? Wouldn’t adding teams and games make it longer. When would the World Series start and end? It’s possible they could be playing it in the snow. It seems the only way that would work is to shorten the season. It’s something to talk about now doesn’t sound like something that will work.
