The Phillies earned a split in their four game series with the Yankees after a 5-4 win on Thursday night. The Phillies jumped out to a 3-0 lead thanks to J.T. Realmuto’s (3) three run homer in the bottom of the second. Mike Tauchman’s two run single in the top of the second cut it to 3-2. Phil Gosselin’s two run double in the third put the Phillies up 5-2. Gary Sanchez’s two run homer in the seventh cut it to 5-4. The much maligned Phillies bullpen was able keep the Yankees off the scoreboard the final to innings. Deolis Guerra (1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER , 0 BB, 1 K) picked up the win in relief of Zack Eflin (4 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K). Jordan Montgomery (4 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 1 BB, 2 K, 1 HR) took the loss.
