The 76ers improved to 2-0 with a 109-89 over the Knicks on Saturday night. The first quarter ended tied at 27. The second quarter ended with the 76ers taking a 5 point lead (60-55) into the locker room. Something different happened in the second half. If your a 76ers fan you know the 76ers have had problems in the third quarter in recent year. That didn’t happen tonight. The 76ers held the Knicks to just 14 points in the third while scoring 26 to take a 86-69 lead at the end of three quarters. The Knicks did manage to cut the 76ers lead to just 9 points in the fourth, but unlike the last few seasons, Doc Rivers made the right moves at the right time, and the 76ers pulled away for the win. It felt strange, but good not to be screaming at the T.V. at the end of a 76ers game. Hopefully there will be a lot more games like this.
