
It wasn’t easy but the Flyers kicked off New York week with a 5-4 OT win against the Rangers. The Flyers jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals by James van Riemsdyk (13), and Ivan Provorov (4). The Rangers came back in the second period scoring the next three goals (Panarin (6), Blackwell (6), Gauthier (2),)to take a 3-2 lead. Joel Farabee (12) would score to tie the game 3-3. The Rangers would take a 4-3 lead early in the third on a goal by Kevin Rooney (5). After taking a stick to the face Claude Giroux (6) got even by scoring on the power play to the the game 4-4. After spending what seemed to be an eternity in the ice Jake Voracek (4) would score to give the Flyers a much needed win.
