The Phillies opened up a three game series with the Braves on Friday night, and it wasn’t a good start for the Phillies dropping the first game 8-1 to the Braves. The Phillies took a 1-0 lead on Andrew McCutchen’s RBI single in the third inning. It was all Braves after that. The Braves took a 3-1 lead in the fifth on Ronald Acuna’s (3) two run homer, and Travis d’Arnaud’s RBI single. A couple of Alex Bohm errors in the sixth led to a Ehire Adrianza (1) three run punch hit home run, and the Braves were up 6-1. Freddie Freeman’s (1) two run homer in the bottom of the eighth ended the scoring. The Phillies drop to 5-2, and the Braves improve to 3-4.
