The Phillies dropped their second straight to the Braves on Saturday night by the score of 5-4. The Phillies jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead on a two run single by DIdi Gregorius in the top of the first. Unfortunately for the Phillies the wrong Zach Eflin started the game. Eflin in the bottom of the first surrendered back to back doubles to Ronald Acuna, and Ozzie Albies, and a two run homer to Freddie Freeman, and just like that the Braves had a 3-2 lead. Andrew McCutchen (1) tied the game 3-3 in the fifth with a solo home run, and Bryce Harper (1) gave the Phillies a 4-3 lead with a solo home run in the sixth. Dansby Swanson’s RBI double tied the game 4-4 in the bottom of the sixth. The Braves scored the eventual winning run in the seventh thanks to a mental error by Jose Alvarado. Alvarado fielded a ball and attempted to go to second, then tried for home but the run had scored. The Phillies drop to 5-3, and the Braves improve to 4-4.
