
Brad Miller’s (4) first inning three run homer, and Zack Wheeler’s masterful pitching helped the Phillies avoid being swept by the Red Sox with a 6-2 win in the series finale on Sunday afternoon. Rhys Hoskins gave the Phillies a 1-0 with an RBI single then Brad Miller made it 4-0. Franchy Cordero (1) cut it to 4-1 with a solo home run. A Andrew McCutchen sacrifice fly, and a Odubel Herrera RBI double put the Phillies up 6-1. Rafeal Devers’ (13) solo home run in the ninth made it a 6-2 final. Zack Wheeler went 7.1 innings, giving up 3 hits 1 earned run, walking 1, and striking out 12 to pick up the win and improve to 4-2.
