The Carson Wentz injury story just took an interesting twist. After announcing he would just rest and rehab his injured foot Wentz is now going to haver surgery on his foot, and could be out between 5-12 weeks. You can bet the one team that really doesn’t like this turn of events are the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles traded Wentz to the Colts for a possible first round draft pick. Now in order for the Eagles to get a first round pick from the Colts Wentz would have to play 75% of the snaps, or play 70% and he Colts make the playoffs. The surgery is removing a bone from Wentz’s foot so it’s probably safe to say Wentz’s return will be closer to 12 weeks rather than the 5. It’s also safe to say the Eagles first round pick will drop to a second round pick since it is unlikely Wentz will paly 70%of the snaps. Let the conspiracy theories begin about the Colts telling Wentz to have the surgery to keep the first round pick. Wouldn’t it be wild for the Colts to trade foe Nick Foles, and Foles somehow lead the Colts to the Super Bowl.
