
The Phillies took the series from the Padres on Sunday afternoon with Rhys Hoskins back in the line up. Hoskins made his presence felt by belting a pair of solo home runs in back to back at bats in the fourth and fifth innings. Hoskins’ first homer in the fourth tied the score 1-1, then Odubel Herrera’s two run single gave the Phillies a 3-1 lead. Hoskins (26) second homer made it 4-1. Odubel Herrera’s (11) solo homer in the seventh mad it 5-1 Phillies. J.T. Realmuto’s (14) two run homer in the eighth made it 7-1. Hector Neris surrendered a three run double to Austin Nola in the ninth that cut it to 7-, but was able to get the final out.
