That was better than expected. The Eagles opened up the season under first year head coach Nick Sirianni with a convincing 32-6 win over the Atlanta Falcons. The game didn’t start well for the Eagles defense. The Falcons went up tempo and took the opening drive down field, but in typical Falcons fashion in the red zone they settled for a field goal to go up 3-0. The Eagles responded with what every Eagles fan hopes to see a lot of this season, a Jalen Hurts to DeVonta Smith TD pass. it put the Eagles up 7-3 and they would never look back. The Falcons did an instant replay of their first drive, and settled for yet another field goal in the red zone to cut it to 7-6, but that would be the last time the Falcons scored. The rest of the game belonged to the Eagles. Jalen Hurts’ TD pass to Dallas Goedert, and a Myles Sanders 2 point conversion in the final minute of the first half gave the Eagles a 15-6 lead at thehalf.

On the Eagles third possession of the second half rookie Kenneth Gainwell gave the Eagles a 22-6 lead. Jalen Reagor was on the receiving end of Hurts’ third TD pass that gave the Eagles a 29-6 lead. Jake Elliott ended the scoring with a 43 yard field goal for the 32-6 final. Jalen Hurts had a solid game going 27/35, 264 yards, and 3 TD’s.
