Who says you can’t go home again? The Phillies were in St. Louis to take on the Cardinals on Monday in the firsat of a quick 2 game seies. It is Ryan Howard’s home town, and he loves hitting there. The Cardinals were up 1-0 when Jayson Werth put the Phillies up 2-1 on a 2-run homer, it stayed that way until the fifth inning when Howard hit a grand slam to put the Phillies up 6-1. The slam ties Howard with Mike Schmidt for most grand slams at 7, and at St. Louis he has a .383 avg., 7 HR’s, and 28 RBI’s in just 60 at bats. In his career against St. Louis he has played 25 games, 95 AB’s, .363 avg., 12 HR’s, and 32 RBI’s. This is Howard’s second grand slam in a week, he hit one against the Washington Nationals last Monday night. If this keeps up you just might see him get intentionally walked with the bases loaded.
