The Phillies finished off their mini sweep of the Cardinals on Tuesday night with a 10 -7 win. The Phillies never trailed in the game but their ppitching made things a little more interesting than it should have been, even though they had chances to really blow this game open that they didn’t take advantage of. The Phillies pitching staff, relievers included, have now given up 46 HR’s in just 24 games. I guess a few more people would be paying a little more attention to this problem if it weren’t for the fact that the Phillies are winning despite the record pace they are on in giving up HR’s. Last year they Phillies gave up 160 HR’s, at the pace they are on now they could possibly give up close to 300 home runs this season, not sure but my guess is it would shatter whatever the record is. They can’t keep giving up home runs at this pace can they?
